Transport Canada (TC) performed a thorough audit of SMS Pro recently. They were very impressed and consider it the most "comprehensive SMS tool they have seen so far." SMS Pro is a very user friendly, Web-based safety management system, including hazard reporting systems and sophisticated management, monitoring, and reporting tools that every aviation SMS should have in some fashion or another, whether you are under Transport Canada, FAA or ICAO regulations.TC became excited many times when they saw aviation SMS functionality not seen in other systems. In addition, they liked how dynamic reports were available at a click of the fingers, especially the financial reports.

What is SMS Pro's Meeting Manager?
Meeting Manager is a meeting scheduling tool that allows you to quickly and efficiently organize meetings based on agendas within SMS Pro. Starting with unresolved issues within your division, you can add or subtract important agenda items and email planned participants of the agenda (pdf attachment). All you need is a web browser and e-mail - no software needs to be installed on your computer.
Meeting Manager focuses on safety, quality, security and compliance meetings and is ideal for firms, organizations and individuals for whom time is a valuable resource and a professional image is essential. Meeting Manager is highly scalable. Its enterprise architecture supports both individuals and organizations with thousands of employees.
Transport Canada loved how all meeting minutes were documented for easy retrieval later. In addition, they liked how tasks could be assigned during the meeting and reported issues also.

What is Performance Monitor?
SMS Pro's Performance Monitor's Key performance indicators allow management to quickly see how their aviation safety management system is affecting their operations. They are typically not interested in going into the weeds.
SMS Pro offers a Performance Monitor for executives to see reported activity. Auditors quickly see how open is the reporting culture by looking at the Safety Board. In addition, looking at the average number of days an issue is unresolved is a good metric for organizational responsiveness. TC also like seeing financial data incorporated into the report management functions.
Issue Validation
Issue Validation is perhaps the most difficult for companies to manage. In short, reported issues must be re-evaluated in the future to ensure that corrective actions remain effective and the corrective actions have not exacerbated the issue. SMS Pro's Issue validation alerts Safety Managers when issues need to be re-examined and manage the history of the validation reports. Auditors absolutely love this feature.
